GUIDE

To specify INSITEX formliners give the required reference, type
and profile depth.
An example of a suggested specification clause for INSITEX formliners is as follows:
"CONCRETE - Surface Finishes
The profiled finish to class...shall be obtained by using the following system - INSITEX
formliner type 608 "Lothian", 12mm profile depth. To be used in accordance with
manufacturers instructions. The system is manufactured by Creteco Sales Limited, 17 St.
Martin's Street, Wallingford,
Oxfordshire OX10 0EA, UK."
The specifier may wish to include the following: "The system is to be installed
to ensure that the ribs are vertical in all locations. No horizontal or inclined
construction joints will be permitted within the area of textural finish."
NB. If formliners are to be used horizontally, attention should be drawn to this.
Otherwise vertical use will be assumed. |

GENERAL INFORMATION
|
INSITEX
formliners minimise waste and eliminate underlying formwork panel marks.
Form ties should preferably be located at 600mm horizontal centres, or multiples of that,
and as far as possible at the formliner overlap edge joint. Tie hole marks are therefore
generally obscured.
Tie hole patching should be carried out in accordance with INSITEX recommendations in
order to avoid leaving noticeable patch marks.
INSITEX textures can be used as an alternative to plasters, tiles, tooling and brick or
stone cladding to provide decorative monolithic facings which, while giving added
protection to underlying structural concrete, do not spill off.
INSITEX touch-smooth surfaces and textural designs provide superior self-cleansing
conditions compared with coarse, granular or abrasive surfaces which can trap airborne
pollution.
INSITEX also deters graffiti by making application more difficult, particularly with the
more rugged textures. |
