Choose the concrete surface
you want from three versions |
Spiral type
Standard concrete surface quality with normal cavity formation and slight
impression from the spiral-shaped coiled structure of the column former |
 |
Smooth liner type
Good concrete surface quality with formation of occasional cavities but
otherwise with smooth concrete surface due to the plastic liner. |
Zemdrain liner type
Outer concrete layer of the highest quality, very largely without cavities
and voids, due to the Zemdrain layer. Produces a concrete with a high resistance to
carbonation, penetration by de-icing salts and corrosion. Particularly suitable for
construction of drinking water reservoirs, bridges, multi-storey car-parks etc. |

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE |
Transport
Always lay the tubes completely flat during transport in order to prevent pressure
spots. Protect against wind and damage from abrasion - tie firmly to open lorries. |
 |
Storage
Always store vertically and protect from rain and dampness. Seal any damaged
surfaces with adhesive tape. If storage is under plastic tarpaulins, allow for sufficient
ventilation
and protect from rising damp from the ground. |
Installation
Always set up with arrow pointing upwards. Protect any edges subsequently cut on
site with adhesive tape. Do not place in puddles of water. Secure the lower end with
restraint templates or with wooden cross-pieces constructed on site. Secure at the top end
with FRANK strapping and props and adjust to plumb vertical. In the case of supports
constructed on site, use support blocks with a large surface area to prevent pressure
spots. |
Concreting
Pour from a skip in sections of 50cm and compact. Only compact using an internal
vibrator.
WARNING: Do not damage the internal surface of the column former with the
vibrator. |
|
Removal of the formwork
Pull the rip-cord after 2 days and release the column former from the concrete
surface - it can remain
loosely in place as protection for the column. However, always
observe the stated stripping time. |
|
Disposal
Formwork tubes consist of cardboard and a very low proportion of plastic. Thermal
disposal or removal with old cardboard boxes is possible. |
|
|
| SUPPORT AND
FIXING PREPARATION |
To fix the formwork tube on a flat surface, templates can be supplied
if desired. |
|
Accessories
For the vertical fixing of column formers (diameter 200mm to 800mm), complete with
strapping and connection for 3 props (diameter 50mm). For expansion of the system for 4
props, individual connection pieces are also available. |
